Mr Andrew Thompson
Deputy Headteacher, Teaching, Learning and Standards
Deputy Headteacher for Standards, Mr Andrew Thompson, is a passionate educator with a particular interest in History, Politics, oracy and debating. Since joining Epsom in 2023, he has held several academic leadership roles, following ten years at Watford Grammar School for Girls as Head of Department. He has supported students in securing places at leading universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, and is committed to helping students develop the confidence and skills to express themselves effectively. A graduate of the University of East Anglia, Mr Thompson also enjoys sports, current affairs and travel.
Johan van Herck
Technical Director of Mouratoglou Academy Malaysia
A former ATP professional with a career-high world ranking of No. 65, Johan brings extensive experience in elite competition and high-performance coaching. He served as Head Coach and Captain of Belgium’s Davis Cup team from 2011 to 2023, leading the team to two Davis Cup Finals.
A qualified Diploma Trainer in A-Level Tennis and Master Performance Coach equivalent, Johan combines technical expertise with a strong focus on player development, helping young athletes strengthen their game, build confidence and progress towards their full potential.
